When I retired one of my main goals was to visit Russia and to learn Russian.
I have been studying the language in different language schools for a year and a half with mixed success. Searching for a better
option I was lucky enough to discover Kalinka Language School on the Internet.

I started studying Russian in Kalinka Language School in August 2019.
I really look forward to my one and a half hour private lesson with Irina every week.

Irina is absolutely professional. She focuses on the spoken word and the ability to communicate. She corrects my appalling
pronunciation with patience, kindness and wit I have improved and gained confidence in the last 6 months.

I have learned and absorbed the grammar and have learned to write beautifully in the Russian cursive script!- thanks to Irina’s teaching skills.

The class ends far too soon for me.

I visited Moscow recently and was delighted at my ability to understand and speak to people. I had the confidence to ask for things, navigate the restaurant menus, and find my way around the city using my language skills.

As well as the language classes Irina organizes Cultural Days and Christmas parties. This is really nice as I get to meet other people who share my interest in the Russian language and Russian literature and history, as well as learning something new about Russia and it’s culture.
